Key Components of the Foundation Course
There are 3 key areas of focus that make up the foundation course:
Core Strength and Postural Alignment, Breathing, and Stretching
Core Strength and Postural Alignment
Minimise lower back pain, muscular tension and headaches with our engaging, yet simple exercises.
These focus on building core strength and lengthening the spine to open up the 3 main points that become blocked through poor posture. Improving your posture can correct misalignments that cause pain, help prevent further structural damage, and provide a solid musculoskeletal foundation to build your physique.
Done regularly throughout the working day they will help combat stress, boost motivation and energy, giving the clarity, focus and energy for a positive and productive working day.
Breathing
Reawaken your breath with exercises that build and strengthen lung capacity, enabling your body to tap into its strongest self-healing mechanism.
Stress, work, irregular exercise and sedentary activities have shortened the length of our breath and we have lost the art of breathing. You will be taught how to use breathing techniques through the highs, lows and flat periods of the day and optimise your energy levels, brain function, physical and mental health.
Stretching
Combining ancient martial arts with modern techniques the stretching programme will help clear physical and mental blockages to reinvigorate and focus the mind. Designed to stimulate circulation, these exercises help pump the blood, enhancing the function of vital organs such as the heart, lungs, kidneys and spleen.
Warriors Edge
A true warrior strives for excellence in every part of their life. Masters of martial arts know that developing character is integral to becoming a true warrior. Our programme will focus on giving you the mindset of a warrior and the skills to put this into practice to give you the winning edge.

Power of Mental Focus
The mindset of a warrior is more than aggression and determination, it is about overcoming challenge and adversity. This course will teach you how to understand and utilise a set of psychological and physical skills that will allow you to be effective, adaptive, and persistent in the workplace.
Warriors have always been encouraged to train and accumulate physical strength. But what good is strength and physical skill without a sharp, focused mind to guide it? As a ‘Warrior’ you will learn to control the direction of your attention and focus your attention on your intention. You will learn powerful and effective techniques that help you remain focused on the moment and allow good decision making that is free from the influence of fear, anger or excitement.
Mind & Body Endurance
Weakness doesn’t exist anywhere in the definition of a warrior. Martial Arts training builds mind & body endurance.
When you TRAIN endurance in your mind & body, you make it easier to face that voice inside your head that tells you to quit when the going gets tough. Quitting isn’t in the warrior’s vocabulary.

Awareness of opportunities & threats
The human brain is wired to adapt to what the environment around it requires for SURVIVAL but with ongoing technological advances it seems that we are travelling a path for which our brains are not quite equipped. It is not NATURAL to tune out the environment we live in and this can cause STRESS for our nervous system. We have become super RELIANT upon technology which supports our VIRTUAL world and are in danger of disconnecting from the ACTUAL world around us.
While being connected to a powerful global communications device is great for finding directions or doing online banking, it’s not great at determining potential THREATS or business OPPORTUNITIES in our immediate environment. Human brains in their NATURAL state however, were designed specifically for performing this very function!
Traditional Martial Arts training encouraged the warrior to fully immerse their mind and body through TRAINING METHODS that - applied correctly - meant the difference between life or death! You may not be preparing for your last battle but the PRINCIPLES can still be learnt so that you become more aware of opportunities and threats through the ability to remain RELAXED, FOCUSED and BALANCED. The business environment can be likened to a battlefield at times with it's fair share of casualties. SUCCESS or FAILURE can hinge upon the ability to recognise threats and opportunities quickly without distraction.
The Warrior's Edge Training Programme harnesses the techniqes and wisdom of the ancient warriors and applies these skills to the modern workplace, be it the production line or the boardroom.
